We carefully color-manage our printers so the colors & tones in your print are true to the data in your image file.
We examine each file carefully before printing
We assume your file is "print-ready" and it looks the way you want
We'll call when we see problems
Send jpeg, tiff, pdf, png or psd files [any size]
Always save .jpegs at high quality
Always flatten .psd files
File Resolutions at final print size [We'll make the most of your file]
100 ppi - usually adequate
200 ppi - optimum
300 ppi - fine but takes longer to upload
Working Color Space
Adobe98RGB - preferred
sRGB - popular and works well, too
We'll convert from other working spaces
Does your monitor display your file's colors accurately?
Arnaud Frich has written a good monitor calibration and profiling GUIDE.
Our Normal Print Borders:
Art Papers - 1" borders added outside the image
Canvases - 2" borders added for stretching
Lambda Photo Prints - Trrimmed border-less to the print size ordered
Signatures [allow at least 1/2"]
Place signatures at least 1/2" from the edge of your image at its full size.
Graphics [5 vital points]
File Types
Send InDesign, Photoshop, TIFF, JPEG and PDF files.
Please send original files if you have them.
File Sizes
Build vector files to the final print size.
If that's not possible. build it at 50%, 25% or 10%.
Raster files should be 200 ppi at final size . We routinely accept as low as 100 ppi and, depending on the subject content, can often work with even less after testing.
Linked files and fonts
Make sure linked files and fonts are included. If fonts are not included, then convert all fonts to oultines.
Bleed - Include 1/4" of bleed if print mounting is required
Color Matching - Advise us when color matching is required
