DIGITAL FILES - Professionally prepared digital files print very well.
Poorly setup files cause delays, give disappointing quality and often
don't work at all. File Preparation Guidelines

PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS
- Sharp,
clean photographic prints equal to or larger than the size you're
ordering copy best. Copying small prints may lose
sharpness.

NEGATIVES, SLIDES & TRANSPARENCIES - Sharp,
clean photographic film prints well! Poor quality or damaged film may
not be usable.

Adding
Text, Logos and Graphics - We will type-set your text and add logos and graphics.
For logos, give us clear printed copies or digital
files at adequate resolution.

We print real photographs, not lithographs
or color copies.
Lithographs are printed on printing presses and have dots in the image.
They are inexpensive but don't have the quality feel of real photographs.
Color copies are even cheaper and printed on typing paper.

Best results
come from professionally prepared digital files or high quality original
prints and film.

FILE PREPARATION GUIDELINES:
If you're a professional graphic artist, here are your
guidelines. Please feel free to call for additional information anytime.
If you're an amateur, we welcome you but please do your homework and get
knowledgeable guidance before submitting files. File fixes can be time
consuming and costly.
-
Scan pictures, logos and artwork at 300 dpi AT FINAL IMAGE SIZE. Lower
resolution scans don't work as well.
-
Proportion
pictures and layouts for your chosen print size (5x7 or 8x10). Don't
forget to include borders.
-
Avoid thin rule lines near print edges. Automated print trimming varies by plus
or minus 1/32" and thin lines near the edge can appear uneven.
-
Flatten Photoshop layers and channels.
-
Convert color to Grayscale for Black & White prints.
-
When using Quark for page layout, make sure to include all font
files.
-
Save picture files in sRGB, Adobe1998 RGB, ColorMatch
RGB, or CMYK(SWOP2)
color space.
-
Save files at 300 dpi at final print size. Resolutions as
low as 100 dpi are okay but higher resolutions work better.

TIFF
format files are best. Compressed files, like JPEG, should be saved at the highest
quality settings.

or any other purpose, constitutes an agreement by you that if any such film
or print is damaged or lost by us it will be replaced with an equivalent
amount of unexposed film and processing. Except for such replacement, the
handling of such film or prints by us is without warranty or liability even
though damages or loss is caused by negligence or other fault.
